PolarPreet Chandi prepares for historic solo North Pole trek
ICE QUEEN: Former Army Medic Prepares for Death-Defying Solo Trek to Conquer the North Pole
She stood alone at the bottom of the world.
Now Harpreet Kaur Chandi is coming for the top.
The 35-year-old British Sikh Army officer—known to millions as PolarPreet—is preparing for a historic solo expedition to the North Pole that could see her become the first woman in history to complete solo journeys to both ends of the Earth.
And the danger is very real.
THE FINAL FRONTIER
Chandi made history in 2022 when she completed a grueling 700-mile solo trek across Antarctica to the South Pole in just 40 days.
But the Arctic is a different beast entirely.
Where Antarctica offers solid ground, the North Pole demands a treacherous 500-mile journey across shifting sea ice that can crack without warning.
Temperatures will plummet to minus 50 degrees Celsius.
Polar bears hunt these desolate wastes.
And unlike her previous mission, Chandi will be dragging a sled nearly twice her body weight across frozen ocean that moves beneath her feet.
BREAKING BARRIERS
The former physiotherapist has already shattered records.
She became the first woman of color to complete a solo expedition to the South Pole.
Now she aims to cement her legacy in 2026.
If successful, Chandi will join an elite club of fewer than ten people who have skied solo to both poles.
No woman has ever done it alone.
“I want to push the boundaries of what people think is possible,” she said.
The clock is ticking.
Training has already begun in the brutal cold of Norway, where Chandi pulls tires across frozen lakes to simulate the resistance of her supply sled.
Every muscle screams.
But she refuses to stop.
